From Fire 513 we checked out Fire 517 (the single burning log) but again found nothing, so we flew on to Fire 515. Located near Parmater Lake in an alpine meadow, this fire was pretty luxurious. We had a creek nearby and a spot the helicopter could land to unload the gear. The fire itself was about 5 metres by 5 metres and pretty easy to put out, especially with our unlimited water. The fire was started by lightning, as most of the fires are, but the tree which was hit didn't burn up, displaying the candy striping of blown off bark. The fire was out by 1500h, at which time we were picked up by the helicopter and flown to our third fire of the day.
