We were called to go to this fire at 800h, making it the only time so far that I have been called when on standby. Located on the side of Mount Mackenzie right above Revelstoke, we had a view of town through the trees from the fire. We were able to use an old helispot about three hundred metres above the fire making the hike in short and steep. The fire was only about 2 metres by 5 metres and other than a couple areas burning deep, was easy to put out with the two stillwells flown in to us. We walked downhill to a talus slope where the helicopter could hover to pick us up. We were back at the base by about 1300h.
