Located in the Mulvehill Creek valley south of Revelstoke, this fire was a typical Revelstoke Initial Attack target. Located on a very steep sidehill, the fire was about 7 metres by 5 metres but was complicated by a burning snag which needed falling. Luckily a creek was located nearby and a hover exit spot was only 50 metres away. We worked frantically all evening hoping that we could get picked up before dark, but unfortunately a helicopter was not available, making it necessary to start carving out tent locations and lighting our standard campfire. The burn is visible in the background behind my tent. I thought this fire was steep until I saw Fire 371 a few days later.
